i often find myself in a small forest in the middle of a bustling town full of children trying to act grown up & grown ups trying to regain their youth. the wind whispersto me as i walk among the trees. the ground is frozen & the trees are bare, but it's beautiful.
a sole tree stands at the centre of a maze made out of small, old stones. it's easy to get lost, following the path, placing one foot in front of the other over & over again will leave you wondering how you got there. i stand there for a moment, my eyes following the path the tree did as it grew & the snow begins to fall. slowly at first, but soon thousands of snowflakes begin to bombard the world. millions of little imperfect patterns falling from the sky. i twirld around as if i was in a black & white movie. maybe a colour one. my hands are cold; i can feel the numbness slowly creeping to the tips of my fingers.
i slowly walk back through the forest, admiring that which many see as ugly; death. i leave footprints in the freshly fallen snow behind me & venture back out into the world...
